Abstract
Head Over Heels and Butts 4.0 will continue the discussion of simple, prevention-based interventions. The learning objectives of this program will include the following:
- Define major risk factors associated with heel pressure ulcers and incontinence associated dermatitis (IAD).
- Cost-justify prevention practices.
- Outline methods for tracking outcomes.
- Highlight the current evidence-based research and guideline recommendations for the prevention of both heel pressure ulcers and IAD.
- Develop a strategy to communicate risk factors for pressure ulcer development across the continuum of care.
